Cardgate® Internet Service

The CardGate® Internet Service (CIS) allows Commonwealth Bank Internet Merchants to process credit and charge card transactions in real time over the Internet.

The Merchant’s system communicates with the CIS processing centre using encryption. Secure SSL communications is used to communicate with the cardholder’s browser whilst they enter their card number.

The CardGate Internet Service can be interfaced to a wide variety of e-commerce applications. This provides the Internet Merchant with choice and flexibility. For example, you can choose from:

To use the service the Merchant must be a Commonwealth Bank Mail Order/Telephone Order Merchant approved for Internet Orders.

Pricing

The Cardgate Internet Service fee is:

  • $0.20 EX GST per APPROVED transaction

    • There is a monthly minimum charge:

  • $20 EX GST which includes 100 transactions

    • Note:

  • There are no tie-in contracts
  • There is no activation fee
  • The Bank will charge the Merchant directly for its Merchant Service and authorisation Fees
